The arrival of the month of Ashadh brings with it the anticipation of the Ashadhi Wari—the sacred pilgrimage of the Palkhis (processional palanquins). When the Palkhis of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj arrive in Pune for a two-day halt, the entire city becomes immersed in an atmosphere of devotion. In a similar spirit, a Wari procession was organized for the children within the premises of the Murlidhar Lohia MatruMandir school. The children arrived dressed as various saints and Warkaris (pilgrims). Filled with enthusiasm, they walked the Wari procession through the school grounds while chanting the name of Lord Vitthal, creating a truly devotional atmosphere. Additionally, the children collected everyday essentials—such as soap and oil—from their homes to donate to the Warkaris. This gesture was intended to make the pilgrim's onward journey from Pune, more comfortable by ensuring they had necessary items at hand. Through this activity, the children learned the valuable lesson that they should extend whatever help they can to the Warkaris undertaking this pilgrimage on foot.
